Currently in Term 2, Ethan has been studying Double Take and various artists who specialize in this theme for the term's topic. Ethan has been looking at a range of different artists and their works, and as created some work that has been inspired by certain artists and has created artworks using the chosen artists styles.

Ethan Klein Babrara Kruger Finished.jpg

This artwork created by Ethan is inspired by the artist Barbara Kruger. Ethan has taken the same method and style from Kruger's works and has put a chosen social issue as his meaning behind the image. The chosen social issue he has chosen for this image is "Poverty". He has taken a photo of a person's hands shaped like a cup, as if they were asking for something like food for example. Ethan has also put a quote in from Gandhi where Gandhi takes about his view on poverty, which is the same view that Ethan sees poverty. Ethan has also purposely placed the quote in the person's hand for a reason. Gandhi was a speaker of issues, whenever he spoke it was for good and for giving people hope with what he said, and the quote that Gandhi said to give people hope, has been placed in that person's hand as if to say someone is giving the person in poverty hope.

These two images are inspired by the artist, Emily Portman. Both these images of Ethan are meant to explore the idea of identity of a person, whether it be their personalities, hobbies, interests, characteristics, the things that make the person who they are. In each photo, Ethan tackles a different part of his "identity". The first image on the top is exploring his personalities/characteristics. Each version of Ethan in the top photograph is representing a different emotion/appearance of himself. On the left, its his happiness, how he enjoys interacting with other people. The middle is representing how he loves to speak and interact with others regardless of if he knows the person or not. The right is representing a more serious side, how under the goofiness, Ethan is very serious when it comes to listening, education, things that are important to him.

The bottom photograph is exploring the "identity" theme by looking at hobbies/interests. Ethan has both a fun side and a serious side. He does like to have fun a lot, whether it be playing video games, talking to other people, listening to music, watching movies, etc. All fun things that Ethan loves to do whenever he gets the chance, and this is represented by the Ethan holding the game controller on the left. The other Ethan in the photograph is the serious side, school, jobs, assignments, education, etc. Education is very important to Ethan, as he will spend hours doing any work he needs to do on assignments, or studying, or making sure something important gets done, and this is represented on the right side where Ethan is on his laptop. Both these sides often clash with each other sometimes and it;s hard to choose sometimes, or midway through a game, Ethan will just stop and go do some work, so because of this, both sides are represented in this image and it's also why the image is very solid and not ghost looking unlike the other image.
